Hey there, I'm Dee Maxwell, the owner and designer of Suede&Co, a small brand of handmade leather bags and accessories based in Margate, UK. I'm originally from Vancouver, Canada and have a degree in fashion design.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by craft materials. My mum is a jack-of-all-trades, mastering everything from painting to crocheting to jewelry making. My sister is also skilled in crochet, knitting and sewing. At just 12 years old, I started sewing and making my own clothes, and the rest is history!

After working in the fashion industry for several years, I decided to follow my dream of starting my own brand. In 2015, Suede&Co was born. I started by making small zippered pouches from vintage suede remnants, but quickly realized that I wanted to create something more colorful and unique.

Today, I create one-of-a-kind designs on high-quality leather, including key rings, coin purses, zipped pouches, and cross-body bags. I'm always experimenting with new techniques and materials, so you can expect to see fresh and exciting designs that you won't find anywhere else.

At Suede&Co, we're committed to ethical and sustainable practices. I source the leather from responsible suppliers and produce each item in small batches, ensuring that they're made with the utmost care and attention to detail.
